In August we were delighted to welcome members of the late David Burke's family. David was a beloved Rotarian in our club and we miss him dearly. His family, Tracey Hovan and his two children Riley and Kayla Burke, presented a donation of $1000 to the club with the message, "Thank you for all the work you do. Dave was a very proud member. Please use these funds in any way you see fit." Knowing how inspired David was by the young people in our Marshwood Interact club and the enthusiasm with which he supported their endeavors, our board voted to use the donation to fund RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Award) students attending that leadership camp next summer. This past June, our club supported 3 students who benefited from this multi-day leadership experience which has always been life-transforming for those who attend. Thank you, Tracey, Riley and Kayla. We appreciate your generosity!
